Christmas bakery and a visit from Frederick TusingireOn the 1st of December this year for World AIDS Day members of UAAH baked 600 AIDS ribbons made out of bread dough. In co-operation with the secondary school in Tegernsee the students bought 475 ribbons for € 1,50 each. Moreover a donation over €31,50 was transferred to our account by the students. A local newspaper (“Tegernseer Zeitung”) published a short report (in German, PDF, 1.5 MB). From the sale of AIDS ribbons and about 60kilos of Christmas cookies UAAH was able to present € 5000,- to Fr. Frederick Tusingire from Uganda on the 9th of December 2006. Fr. Tusingire is one of our main contacts in Uganda and the initiator of St. Theresa Vocational School which is also supported by UAAH.
On the 10th of December Fr. Fred celebrated mass together with Father Seubert in the small church in Glashütte.
On the 11th of December two members of UAAH took Fr. Fred to the European School in Munich-Perlach. There he gave talks on Uganda and answered questions of the students about the situation of Uganda, its policies about AIDS and the general living conditions of the people in rural areas. On the 12th of December Fr. Fred Tusingire left Germany for his return journey to Uganda via Amsterdam.
